Description

Big lighting capability. Less bulk on your rig.

The Spectrum 18000 delivers up to 18,000 lumens, three selectable colour temperatures and stepless brightness control in a compact, 990 g package. It is the choice for divers who want powerful wide-angle lighting without the size and heft of a 20–25K-class light.

Powerful lighting without the larger-light heft

At 72.5 mm in diameter and 217 mm long, the Spectrum 18000 gives you a smaller light to pack, mount and handle. It weighs 990 g on land and 470 g underwater with the battery installed. If the bulk of a larger video light is more than you want on your rig, the 18K offers a compact alternative while retaining a broad 120° underwater beam and three colour-temperature choices.

Choose the colour of your light—not just the brightness

A close reef subject and a wide scene with blue water behind it present different lighting choices. The Spectrum 18000 lets you select the colour temperature at the light, rather than adding a filter to change its output colour.

  • 5600K white: a daylight-balanced starting point for lighting nearby reef detail and divers. Set your camera’s white balance to suit the light and the scene.
  • 8000K white: a cooler white option when you want to change the balance between your lit subject and the surrounding water.
  • 16,000K marine ambient: a blue-shifted option for ambient-light shooting, helping bring the colour of your added light closer to blue-water surroundings.

Water colour, depth, visibility and camera white balance all affect the result. These modes give you choices at capture; they do not replace thoughtful light positioning or camera setup.

Wide coverage, with brightness you can fine-tune

The 120° beam maintains its stated coverage underwater, making it useful for wide-angle reef scenes and close-focus wide-angle subjects. Stepless dimming lets you dial back the light as you approach a subject or adjust your exposure, rather than being limited to a short list of preset power levels.

Good lighting still starts with getting close and positioning your lights carefully. More lumens are not a substitute for reducing the water between your camera and the subject, especially where suspended particles can cause backscatter.

Remote control from your camera tray

The Spectrum 18000 is compatible with the optional RC02 remote control. Adjust lighting from your tray rather than reaching along the arms—a useful addition when you want to keep your hands close to the housing while composing your shot.

Plan your shooting time

The rated runtime is 35 minutes at full output or 50 minutes at 80% brightness. That gives you a clear choice between maximum illumination and longer shooting time. Actual runtime varies with operating conditions; plan around the time you will have the light switched on, not just the length of the dive. A full recharge takes approximately four hours.

Spectrum 18000 or Spectrum 25000?

Choose the Spectrum 18000 for substantial output in a smaller, lighter package, with stepless dimming to fine-tune brightness. It suits divers who prefer less bulk than a 20–25K-class light.

Choose the Spectrum 25000 when higher maximum output is your priority, and you are comfortable with a larger light. Both offer three selectable colour temperatures, a 120° underwater beam and RC02 remote compatibility.

Battery and air travel

The 97.92 Wh battery is below the standard 100 Wh passenger-air-travel threshold. Check your operating airlines’ current requirements. Spare or removed lithium-ion packs must travel in cabin baggage with terminals protected; protect batteries from damage and the light from accidental activation.
