Description
Abyss 10000 – Pure Power, No Extras
The Abyss 10000 is built on the same proven platform as our Hydra 10000, but with one clear focus: everything you need, nothing you don’t. Designed for divers who want uncompromising light output without the added cost of multiple color modes, the Abyss 10000 delivers 10,000 lumens of high-CRI flood light in a compact, rugged body.
With a wide 120° beam angle, a true-to-life CRI 90 rating, and 5600K daylight balance, the Abyss 10000 ensures your underwater photos and videos capture colors exactly as they appear in nature — no washed-out blues, no lifeless tones.
We’ve also carried over the push-button + dial interface from the Hydra series, replacing the old 3-button system. Adjusting brightness is intuitive and effortless, even while wearing gloves.
Key Features
- 10,000 lumens constant output (12,000 burst): That’s the working output throughout the dive — not a peak figure that steps down after warm-up. We drive for consistent brightness so your exposure holds from the moment you turn it on to the end of the burn.
- CRI 90 @ 5600K: Accurate color reproduction that actually means something. Lights that skip the CRI rating on their spec sheet are usually hiding a number around 80 or lower — which is why footage looks greenish even when the exposure looks right. CRI 90 means reds, oranges, and skin tones come out the way they actually looked underwater.
- 120° flood beam — even, wide coverage with no hotspots
- Push-button + dial control — fast, intuitive brightness adjustments with gloves on
- Burn time: ~60 minutes at 80%
- USB-C PD charging with included 3×21700 Li-ion battery pack
- Depth rating: 100 m / 330 ft
- Weight: 730 g (land) / 340 g (underwater)
Burst Mode — Fiber-Optic Triggered
Sync via fiber optic cable to your camera’s built-in flash and the Abyss 10000 fires a quick, bright pulse timed to your shutter. Recycle is fast. The difference from a dedicated strobe isn’t recycle speed — it’s flash duration. A xenon strobe fires in microseconds, which is what fully freezes motion. Burst mode fires longer than that, so very fast-moving subjects won’t be frozen as sharply. For macro work on slower subjects — nudibranchs, cleaning stations, coral detail — it gives a meaningful brightness spike that continuous light alone cannot produce.
Accessories & Compatibility
- KR-RC02 Remote — for fingertip control, no reaching for buttons
- KR-FB04 Float — designed specifically for the Hydra/Abyss body for neutral buoyancy
- KR-FT03 / FT04 Ambient Blue Filters — for creative control and natural ambient blending
Built for Simplicity
If you don’t need red, blue, or UV — and just want pure, reliable, high-output flood light — the Abyss 10000 is your go-to.
Popular with action camera shooters. GoPro, Insta360, and DJI Action users will find the Abyss line a natural fit. Action cameras handle white balance and exposure automatically, so colour modes like red, green, and UV go unused — what they need is the brightest possible white flood, clean CRI 90 output, and simple dial control. The Abyss delivers all of that.
