Description
The FT06 Colour Filter Set works with all Kraken snoots — whether you are running a video light snoot or a strobe snoot. Six gel filters slot directly into the snoot, swapping in seconds underwater without tools. Each filter shifts the colour of your snoot beam, opening up creative options that a standard white beam cannot deliver.
What the Filters Do
Colour gels pass the snoot beam through a tinted filter, shifting the output to that colour. The effect is most striking in snooted macro photography, where the subject is lit in a single colour against a dark background. Results vary by subject — red on a bright nudibranch, blue on a transparent shrimp, green on a coral polyp — and the creative range is wide enough that these filters change how you approach a dive.
Fluorescence Photography
Blue and violet filters in the FT06 set are effective for fluorescence excitation when paired with a barrier filter on your lens. Many corals, nudibranchs, and fish fluoresce brightly under blue light — they absorb the blue and re-emit it as green, orange, or red. The FT06 turns your snoot into a basic fluorescence excitation source, a technique that typically requires dedicated equipment.
