20,000 lumens. That’s the sustained working output — the brightness the Abyss 20K maintains through a full dive, not a peak number from a brief interval on a test bench. We design for consistent output because a light that dims mid-dive forces you to adjust exposure mid-shot, and that’s not what serious underwater video looks like.
The 120° beam covers a wide-angle frame without hotspots. At 5600K with CRI 90, the light reproduces colors accurately — reds stay red, corals hold their saturation, footage looks right without heavy grading. A 20,000 lumen light with poor color rendering is still hard to work with; CRI 90 makes those lumens genuinely useful.
White, Burst, and SOS modes. No color channels, no added complexity — this is a pure flood light for divers who need maximum output and a reliable exposure reference. If you want UV and color modes for fluorescence or creative work, the Hydra 18000 is the step up.
Burst Mode — Fiber-Optic Triggered
Sync via fiber optic cable to your camera’s built-in flash and the Abyss 20K fires a quick, bright pulse timed to your shutter. Recycle is fast. The difference from a dedicated strobe is flash duration — a xenon strobe fires in microseconds, which is what fully freezes motion. Burst fires longer than that, so very fast-moving subjects won’t be frozen as sharply. For macro work on slower subjects, or when you need a short burst to cut through strong ambient light on wide shots, it gives you a real brightness spike beyond what continuous output provides.
