Kraken Sports: Built by Divers, for the Real World
This is a second-generation dive business. My dad started our family’s dive shop over 40 years ago, and I grew up in it — literally. I spent my childhood around tanks, regulators, and customers planning their next underwater adventure. When you grow up in a dive shop, you don’t just learn about gear. You learn about the people who use it, what they need, and what’s missing.
He passed away last year, but the energy he brought to everything — the friendliness, the sense of adventure, the belief that diving should be accessible and fun — that’s still here. It’s in every product we make.
From a Family Dive Shop to a Global Brand
For years we imported lights and accessories from all over the world. They worked — mostly. But I always thought we could do better. In 2015, I stopped thinking about it and started building.
What started as a few dive torches has grown into a full line of underwater video lights, strobes, camera housings, and imaging accessories trusted by divers around the world. Every Kraken product is designed with input from real divers — professionals, instructors, underwater photographers — because that’s who we are.
By 2020, we opened our own manufacturing facility in Foshan, China. Aside from the lenses, every part of a Kraken light or strobe is designed, tested, and assembled in-house. No OEM rebranding, no shortcuts. When you’ve been on the other side of the counter, you stop accepting “good enough.”

We’re known for lights like the Solar Flare Series and Hydra Series — tools that help divers and creators capture crisp, accurate color underwater. Our strobes and imaging gear continue that mission, giving underwater photographers the control and consistency they need to create anywhere in the world.
